![]() I gather that approximately 1000 were made for troop trials, they are very similar to the P/1853 in external appearance & even appear to take the same interchangeable Enfield P/1853 socket bayonet, they are shorter than the P/1853 but not by much & so have three barrel bands as it was thought that two would be insufficient, the barrels are iron. ![]() The following example is not mine but I have taken the liberty of photographing it for the forum as we don't see many of these & I don't recall any discussion on them. I am hoping for discussion & info on this type of rifle.
